Safari tour dates: January 11–17, 2027 (5 days in the reserve, 6 days / 5 nights).
Group: 6 people (6 spots available).
Among the multitude of safari tour offers to Kenya, it’s hard to find something truly special and unique. In fact, a safari tour through the country’s national parks is already quite special — it’s an incredible adventure at the very least. Just think: you’ll be immersed in completely wild nature.
But everyone naturally wants to get the most out of such an extraordinary trip: see as many animals as possible, learn interesting facts about them, and bring home photos that will amaze your family and friends — making them wonder how you became such a great wildlife photographer. Plus, those pictures will let your loved ones relive at least some of the highlights of your adventure alongside you.
And that’s exactly the kind of safari tour to Kenya we’re offering you now.
In January, when the Maasai Mara National Park sees fewer tourists and there’s no rain or mosquitoes, you’ll set off on your unforgettable adventure. Your guide will be Aleksey Osokin — a renowned wildlife photographer, author of a popular book about African cats, animal psychologist, and editor‑in‑chief of Zoography magazine.
Aleksey is a professional photographer and the author of numerous articles and a book about Africa’s wild nature. Over the years he’s spent in Maasai Mara — Kenya’s largest national park — he’s learned the rangers’ trade and personally protected wild animals from poachers, literally pulling them out of traps and snares with his own hands.
Aleksey can not only teach you how to photograph wild animals, but will also share many secrets and fascinating stories, show you how to tell one leopard from another, and take you to the most interesting spots in the reserve that are off‑limits to regular tourists. He knows the reserve so well and has spent so much time there that not only the locals and staff recognise him — even the animals do!
During the expedition, you’ll experience:
Accommodation
We’ll spend 1 night at a 4‑star hotel in Nairobi, followed by 5 nights in the heart of Maasai Mara National Park — at Matira Bush Camp.
Matira Bush Camp
The camp is located right in the centre of Maasai Mara National Park, which means your encounter with nature will go on 24 hours a day. You’ll fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the savanna.
The accommodation conditions are no different from those of regular hotels you’re used to. The tents have comfortable beds, and of course there’s a toilet and a shower with hot water. The only difference is that instead of walls and a roof, you’ll have canvas! Yes, you’ll be staying in a large, tall and very comfortable tent with all amenities. The tents are equipped with electricity, but you won’t find a TV inside.
Even though predatory animals — including lions and hyenas — may roam around you, your safety is fully guaranteed. First, the animals have no interest in you; second, you’ll be constantly guarded by brave Maasai warriors!
Electricity at the camp runs from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. The generator is switched off at night to avoid unnecessary noise that could disturb the animals. High‑speed satellite internet is also available from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The restaurant is open only during breakfast, lunch and dinner times. Meal times are set at the guests’ request. The camp features a cosy lounge bar and a relaxation area around a campfire.
The camp is owned by a pleasant lady from Switzerland, so the level of service here is on par with the finest hotels in Europe.
