Visiting the Maasai Mara National Park is not free of charge. Entry tickets for foreign nationals are quite expensive. Most of the revenue from ticket sales goes towards running the park — and it requires substantial funds to maintain it. This is what accounts for the high cost of admission.
From 1 January 2024, the following ticket prices apply for foreign tourists (non‑Kenyan residents) visiting the Maasai Mara:
Adults:- USD 100 per day (from 6:00 to 18:30), 1 January to 30 June;
- USD 200 per day (from 6:00 to 18:30), 1 July to 31 December.
Children aged 9–17:- USD 50 per day (from 6:00 to 18:30), 1 January to 30 June;
- USD 50 per day (from 6:00 to 18:30), 1 July to 31 December.
Children aged 0–8:It’s important to note that the ticket price does not change if you stay in the park forless than a full day!
Tickets can be purchased upon entering the park. For organised tours, tickets arearranged by the guide or the lodge/camp where you plan to stay.
